Tour 3 – Rice field hike

Rice farming has always been of great importance to the people of Bali. This tour combines leisurely walks through beautiful rice fields with a "pure nature" experience on the west coast.

Participants are picked up directly from their hotel in a VW "Kübelwagen". The first stop is the Subak rice museum near Tabanan, which vividly presents the history and culture of Balinese rice growing. We then drive to the western part of the island, where a walk of about one hour through the rice fields begins. This easy stroll passes impressively laid-out terraces – with the chance to see and touch the rice plants up close. During the rest stop, a farmer is happy to fetch a fresh coconut straight from the palm.

Lunch is served on the black sand beach of the west coast, where impressively large waves break on the shore. After a beach walk there is a lovely afternoon hike through the rice fields of West Bali. To finish, we visit a once important royal residence. Then return to your hotel.
